Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of services provided by Maramba River Lodge (“the Lodge”), located in Livingstone, Zambia. By making a reservation or using any services provided by the Lodge, you agree to abide by these Terms.

Booking and Reservation

  1. Reservation Confirmation: All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation by the Lodge. A reservation is considered confirmed upon acknowledgement and receipt of a booking confirmation from the Lodge.
  1. Cancellation Policy: Cancellations or changes to reservations may be subject to charges. The specific cancellation policy will be provided at the time of booking and may vary depending on the room type and rate plan selected.

Check-in and Check-out

  1. Check-in: Check-in time is 2:00pm and check-out time is 10:00am. Early check-in and late check-out requests are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
  1. Identification: Guests are required to present a valid government-issued photo ID upon check in.

Payment and Charges

  1. Rates and Taxes: All rates are quoted in kwacha or dollars and are subject to applicable taxes and fees. Additional charges may apply for extra services or amenities requested by guests.
  1. Payment: Payment for accommodation and any additional charges incurred during the stay must be settled in full upon check-out unless otherwise agreed upon in advance. Payment Can be made by credit card (Visa/Mastercard) or cash in the following currencies at the prevailing rate on the day: USD, Zambian Kwacha, GBP or SA Rands.

We reserve the right to change these rates to cover extra fees imposed on us by outside forces. Due notice will be given.

  1. Booking policy:
  • If a booking is made less than 30 days prior to the arrival date a 100% payment must be made to confirm the booking.
  • All other bookings over 30 days prior to arrival date a 50% deposit is required, with balance paid 30 days prior to arrival.

4. Cancellation policy:

  • 60 days or more before arrival 25%
  • 45 to 59 days before arrival 50%
  • 31 to 44 days before arrival 75%
  • 1 to 30 days before arrival 100%
  • The lodge is not liable for any cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, the best the lodge can do is move the intended travel date, however, no refund will be obtained.

In the event of a no show, the lodge is obligated to obtain full payment from the client for any inconveniences caused and will not be liable to provide a refund to the client.

Guest Responsibilities

  1. Property Care: Guests are responsible for the care and upkeep of Lodge property and facilities. Any damages caused by guests during their stay will be charged to the guest’s account.
  1. Conduct: Guests are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner and adhere to Lodge policies and regulations. Disruptive behavior may result in eviction without refund.

Liability and Disclaimers

  1. Liability: The Lodge shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury incurred by guests during their stay, including but not limited to personal belongings, accidents, or injuries on the Lodge premises.
  1. Disclaimers: The Lodge makes no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information provided on its website or through other channels.


  1. Amendments: The Lodge reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Lodge’s website.
  1. Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Zambia. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zambia.

By making a reservation or using any services provided by the Lodge, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
